Hello...!
Sorry this newsletter is a few days overdue - it's been a busy few days for me, because we found out some big news. My husband got a job in Seattle & we will be moving there within the next couple months! I'm excited about the move, but it's going to be a big change, coming from Miami. I never really thought I'd leave Florida. On top of this, I am now 6 months pregnant (due in August) with our first child. So, with all the big changes happening to me in the next few months, the newsletter will be sporadic in the near future...but I'm sure you all understand!
Have a great week!
AOT,
Annie
P.S. our bulldog will be flying with me & I'm really concerned about this - if anyone has any advice on flying with a pet, or contacts with the airlines, please email me!

I just wanted to let everyone know what a great job the Delta Tau chapter
at Morehead State University did with their 35th anniversary chapter
reunion. Alumnae Relations Chair Gena Boyle planned a wonderful luncheon
with special guest speaker, National VP of Membership (and Delta Tau
alum), Margaret Holt Duncan. Before the luncheon, the sisters and
Margaret led us in the reading of the ritual and the alumni present
renewed their oaths. The only disappointment was the small turnout!
Girls, I want to see you there next time! Collegians, you did a fabulous
job and really made us feel welcome!

About a month ago, I put in an entry for the newsletter saying that my roommate was moving out May 1, and I was looking for a new roommate. I did find someone, but her transfer fell through, and my roommate is still moving out May 1. Again, I have a two bed, two bath apartment in the West LA-Culver City area. Rent is $1395. Features include dishwasher, air conditioning, fireplace, balcony, security access, gated parking, pool, laundry, and a small exercise room. Please contact me ASAP if you or anyone you know is interested.

Hello KD Sisters,
A friend of mine (and many of you) is ill. Kappa Delta Sister, Susan Mariotti Pendleton, Omega Xi '91 has been ill for many many years with a condition that does not allow her blood to flow very easily. The blood flow has been significantly reduced due to her vena cava (the main vein in the throat area) closing up. She is taking a lot of different medications and is easily worn out. This medical condition has worsened over the last few years. Susan has been to many doctors who have tried to help her.
Amazingly, her father discovered a doctor in Utah that has been researching this condition for the past few years. This doctor is willing to operate on Susan. The procedure will include removing a portion of her vein from her femur and relocating it to the throat area, in hopes of clearing a way for the blood to flow freely via her vena cava. This is a very risky operation as you might imagine! She is scheduled for surgey in Utah, on May 10th...just a few short weeks!
Susan and I were in the college of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) and had many of the same classes together! I always loved having a studio class with her! Susan is one of the most gracious and loving friends I have had the honor of knowing in my life. She is the one who encouraged me to join KD, and for that alone I cannot thank her enough! From our very 1st classes together & many a night painting a KD banner for this event or that, I have always admired her creativity and artisitc talent! These days, she uses her talent to create jewelry and various pieces of artwork.
With the help & planning of Beth Hudson and loving cooperation of the Omega Xi Chapter and Mary Wheeler Schap, House Corp. President, Susan will be at the Omega Xi Chapter House THIS, Saturday, May 1st from 2-4pm
An Afternoon With the Artist
Featuring Susan Mariotti Pendleton
What: An opportunity to show support for Susan by visiting with
her and purchasing her beautiful creations
When: Saturday, May 1st 2-4p.m.
Where: Kappa Delta Sorority House
2803 Clifton Avenue
Cincinnait, OH 45220
She will bring her masterpieces for you to purchase, if you desire to support her in that manner. OR, please just stop by to say "hi" to her! I know that will mean more to her than any amount of money! She is looking forward to seeing KD's she has not seen in many years, as well as meeting new! She is a true sister!
If you are unable to attend, but wish to send cards or donations for Susan, please send them to:
Susan Pendleton
c/o Beth Hudson
PO Box 334
Mason, OH 45040
Beth will be sure to pass on your warm wishes to Susan.
This is from Beth Hudson: "Susan has asked for continued prayers for her upcoming surgery. She also requests prayers for her husband, Kirk. Let us pray for their safety to Utah. Let us pray for skillful doctors and a speedy recovery. Let us pray for peace within on the day of the surgery for Susan, Kirk, and the family."
PLEASE forward this email to anyone you think might be interested in supporting Susan! Her friends thank you in advance for your compassion and prayers for Susan!
KD Love & AOT,
Robyn Cron, Omega Xi '92
Beth Hudson, Omega Xi '93
and Susan's countless friends!
