Hello everyone..!

Uh oh... I realized the other day that I had forgotten to mention/remind everyone of National Women's Friendship Day!  Sorry!  Anyway, please send in messages telling us all how you spent the day!

Have you been to HQ's website recently?  There's now a "Parents' Information" section, with lots of information about Kappa Delta.  And...here's a new one: it looks like Kappa Delta is creating a "Mother's Pin" - there's a partial image on the page, & it will be available soon!

That's it for this week...please continue to send in your news! :)

AOT,
Annie

Hello, My name is Rachel and I'm from the Gamma Omicron chapter @ WSU.  I wanted to let everyone know about our National Womens Friendship Day.  We are having the event on campus and have a grand total of about 100 women attending.  That is a big number considering that we are a chapter of about 30.  It will be on Sept. 28th in the ballroom.  We hope to increase attendence with all of our new mwmbers as well.  We are all looking forward to it.  GO KD!!

Hi, I am a KD sister from Beta Nu-University of Toledo and just recently found out about this website. As of now I live in the Columbus, Ohio area but am relocating to San Francisco with my husband in November/December.  I would love to hear from some sisters as to suggestions or advice on living in the San Francisco Bay area. I have never been but plan to visit next weekend to get a feel for the place and look at townhomes to live in. It is all very overwhelming to me and I'm very nervous about the change.
Suggestions, tips, advice would be greatly appreciated by all.

Thanks and in AOT,
Lisa Konves (Siemon)

Hello all! I have just started a new job at a small company as a Marketing Manager. I am the only marketing person in this small firm and am looking for other marketing or business professionals to network with and bounce ideas off of.

Does anyone know of an organization like that (other than American Marketing Association) in the San Francisco Bay Area?

Thank you,

A dear friend of mine sent this to me. I think it's worth passing on. What do you think?

ATTITUDE
The 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud lady, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with her hair fashionably coifed and makeup perfectly applied, even though she is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today.

Her husband of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary.

After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, she smiled sweetly when told her room was ready.

As she maneuvered her walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of her tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on her window.

"I love it," she stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.

"Mrs. Jones, you haven't seen the room .... just wait."

"That doesn't have anything to do with it," she replied. "Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged... it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it ..

"It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up.

I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do.

Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away ... just for this time in my life.

Old age is like a bank account . you withdraw from what you've put in .. So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories . Thank you for your part in filling my Memory bank. I am still depositing.

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.
