Hiya...
Ah...I love August...only because it's my birthday month! Which reminds me...on HQ's site on the EXCLUSIVELY KD section, there's a cute option where you can find out whose birthdays are each month. (And if you know me, you know I get a kick out of the "shared birthday" connection - that's how my husband & I met..yes, we have the same birthday!) So, while you're on HQ's site, looking for a recommendation form or to read the latest KD news, check out this feature!
Anyway, I only got a couple of notes this week..I was hoping a few more would come in by today, but no luck..so please, send in some news to share!

Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, Northern VA KAPPA DELTA ALUMS!!!
Join us for our Annual Orioles Game Outing on Sunday August 25th!
Bring your friends, family, and/or significant other and enjoy a great Sunday afternoon at Camden Yards watching the Baltimore Orioles take on the Toronto Blue Jays in the battle of the birds! The game is set for 1:35 p.m. and as always we plan to do lunch before hand. We will be departing the DC area at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday morning and carpooling will be available.
In order to reserve your tickets, we need a check for $23 for each ticket no later than August 16th. That will give me enough time to purchase the tickets. Thanks!

Sisters, please, I need your help!!! My name is Katherine Morgan and I am a KD from Alpha Delta (Rhodes College).
Next week, I will begin work at American Express Financial Advisors as a personal financial advisor. In actuality, I am an attorney (passed the bar in TX and NY) and I chose this career because it provided me with the opportunity to do what I love (tax and estate planning) on a much more personal level than I ever would be able to do as an associate in a law firm. In working as a personal financial advisor, I will be working closely with clients to help them identify their financial goals and objectives (such as tax planning, planning for retirement and college, and investment objectives) and then I will help them design a financial plan for their lifetime to meet these goals and objectives. I am so excited about this job, because I think the services that American Express offers are so important and that many people, if not everyone, could probably use a little help in getting their finances in order.
So, this is what I am asking of my sisters - If you live in Texas or in the Dallas/Ft Worth area and are serious about getting your financial goals in order, please contact me so that we can set up a meeting for you to come in and I can tell you what I do and how I work. My time to work with new clients is very limited, so I wanted to extend the opportunities to Kappa Deltas before anyone else.
I also have another favor to ask of all Kappa Deltas across the United States (and everywhere else in the world too!) - my practice will be built mainly on a referral basis, so if you have friends, family, and associates that live in Texas that you think would benefit from such a service, please, please, please contact me so that I can contact these people and extend the same opportunity to them.
