Hi everyone!

Got a lot of messages for midsummer, so just a quick note from me...

Good luck to Carrie Mewha (Beta Pi-Florida & Univ of Miami med student) as she competes in the Miss Florida contest this weekend!!  Your sisters will be cheering for you -- at the auditorium and in front of the TV.

Have a great week!

AOT,
Annie

A big thank you to Rachel Kirk (Gamma Sigma-East Carolina) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL for sending me a white dress that she was no longer using that will be perfect for rituals in the wintertime here in Ohio.

If any of you have white dresses that you can no longer use, you might consider posting the info in the newsletter...there may be a sister out there who can really use them. Plus, it's another way to connect with and meet sisters you never knew you had :)

The newly re-formed Southern Jersey AA and the Central Jersey AA chapters
have decided to host a picnic together.  The picnic will be held on Sunday
July 28 at 1:00 p.m. at the Green Grove Picnic Area at Washington Crossing
State Park.  The address is 355 Washington Crossing-Pennington Road,
Titusville, NJ and the phone number is 609-737-0623.  We will have access to
grills, a pavilion, bathrooms, and a playground. There is also a ball field
nearby, so feel free to bring equipment in case we want to get a softball
game going. You might also want to bring lawn chairs and coolers for the
food/drinks if you have them.

The AA's will provide burgers/hotdogs and paper products, but please feel
free to bring anything you want (salads, chips, desserts, etc.)  Please note
that alcohol is prohibited in the park. Also, please be aware that there
will be a guard at the entrance collecting a $3 fee per car.  Please bring
spouses, significant others, children or anyone else. There will be games,
food and friends for everyone! We have the picnic area until the park closes
at 8pm, so we are in no rush!

If you need further information or to RSVP, please contact Bridget Gavaghan
(SNJAA Social Chair) at gavs7175@yahoo.com, or Alysia Sachau (CNJAA President) at DonSachau@aol.com.

The Sacramento area alumnae association had a June party and welcomed three
new ladies with our wine tasting.  We made a game of it by giving people
blind taste tests and the names of the different wines we were trying.  We
found that we are not wine connoisseurs, but we had a lot of fun.  Our next
get together is in August when we will be preparing goodie bags for some of
our state chapters as a welcome back gift.

Hi, I am a KD alum from the University of Missouri.  My chapter is a fairly new chapter (1976), (comparitively speaking) and does not have much in the way of a lot of formal traditions. I have heard that some sororities have traditions that are done for weddings and baby showers.

For example, I just went to a Baby shower and had "Zeta Punch" which was some strawberry concoction. The most we've done is sing a song that we remember at a sisters' wedding reception. I'd love to hear any suggestions you might have.  Thanks.

[ed. note: I'd like to know too - and I'll add them to my website (http://kdonliner.tripod.com), where I already have a few "KD Wedding Traditions" posted.  -- Annie]

I am looking to get back into some KD activities and thought that this would be a great way to get started. I moved back to my home town of Wanaque, NJ (Northern NJ) last summer and am looking to find out more info  about KD alum associations.

I am going to be moving to Europe, Prague specifically, for six months or so starting in September.  Are there any KD's who have any advice or are already out there and would like someone to show around?  Any help would be greatly appreciated
