Happy Eleventh Anniversary, KDOnliners!

Another year passes by...this week marks the eleventh year that I have been sending out the Kappa Delta Online newsletter!  Although I've been sending it out about every 2-3 weeks (life changes A LOT after you have a baby), it is still a lot of fun putting it together. :) Anyway, thank you all for continuing to support this newsletter...

AOT,

Annie

Kappa Delta Alumnae Recognized for Panhellenic Contributions

At the conclusion of each calendar year, the Alumnae Panhellenic
Association of Washington DC holds a banquet honoring that year’s
executive council and accomplishments of the various sorority members.
At the banquet marking the end of the 2005-2006 academic year for the
Alumnae Panhellenic Association of Washington DC, outgoing President
Susan Manley (Pi Beta Phi) thanked all sorority representatives for
making this year a success, and specifically recognized the Alumnae
Association of Kappa Delta (WDCAA) for its contributions.

First, earlier in the year, WDCAA President Melissa Low spearheaded a
group who knitted scarves, hats, and mittens for the Panhellenic
philanthropy at Christmas. These scarves, hats, and mittens were
generously donated by multiple individuals and made a huge contribution
to the overall fundraiser. The winter clothing items were then donated
to the National Center for Children and Families located in Bethesda,
Maryland. Second, WDCAA’s own Panhellenic Representative Sarah Casseday
led the first Panhellenic Presidents’ Forum in March 2006. Sarah
conducted the forum that gathered Presidents from NPC sorority alumnae
associations in an effort to bridge the gap between these organizations
and to provide an open forum for the women to share ideas involved in
membership, recruiting, and other social activities. Finally, Kappa
Delta alumnae generously supported the Panhellenic scholarship
fundraising effort—this year the Association awarded $750 scholarships
to three outstanding area Greek women students.

WDCAA is represented in the Association by Sarah Casseday and Anne
Hoar. The Washington DC area attracts collee graduates from across the
country, so WDCAA and the Panhellenic Association are part of an active
Greek community. During the past year, this community has achieved a
great deal of synergy through joint social events, lobbying efforts,
and other activities that bring together alumni from across Greek
organizations.

Hi,

I work at 20th Century Fox in Los Angeles in the International Television department and deal with theatricals that will be released throughout the world on Pay TV.

If anyone is interested in applying for jobs at Fox (there are many departments), please go to http://www.foxcareers.com and if you see something you like, apply for it online, and use my name as a referral.  Then email me your resume, and I will expedite it to the Human Resources department, and they will send it to the manager who handles that particular department.

I have already used this system to help friends find work here.  Don't hesitate to email me or ask me any questions.  Hopefully I will be able to answer them.

I would like to announce my recent marriage to Justin Michael Holler.  We were married on April 22, 2006 in Frederick, Maryland.  The wedding was all that I have ever hoped for (just under 300 people) and I could not have been more happy in my life.  A fellow KD, Kyra Sicilia, was my maid of honor and I was sooo excited to have many other KD sisters there to celebrate with me.  Our honeymoon was two weeks in the caribbean (one of them being on a cruise)!  What a blast!

Just for today...
I will live through the next twelve hours
and try not to tackle all of
life's problems at once.

I will learn something useful.
I will learn something that requires effort,
thought and concentration.
I will be agreeable.

I will look my best,
be courteous
and considerate.

I will not find fault with friend,
relative or colleague.
I will not try to change anyone but myself.

I will have a program.
I might not follow it exactly, but I will have it.
It will save myself from two enemies:
hurry and indecision.

I will believe in myself.
I will give my best to the world,
and feel confident that the world
will give its best to me.
