Hello...!
KD is colonizing in New York! I just found out that there will be a new chapter colonizing at Pace University, and it looks like our New York Alumnae Association has already organized help (see below for contact info).
In more news, I was checking out HQ's site & read about the "50 over 50" campaign: "Kappa Delta is honoring its members who are accomplished, wise and empowered women over 50. Nominate a member of your alumnae association, a respected alumna from your chapter, a close KD friend or yourself." Read more about it at www.kappadelta.org.
AOT,
Annie

I would like to announce my recent marriage to Joseph Michael Chiappa. We were married on April 15, 2006 in Lake Mary, FL at the Orlando Lake Mary Marriott. The wedding was small and very intimate but it was absolutely beautiful! Our honeymoon was to a Sandals Resort in St. Lucia Island in the West Indies. Hope everyone is doing well.

Just thought that I would let you know that every May (Memorial Day Weekend), here in Pineville, KY we have the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival. It begins on Thurs. night and ends on Sun. morning. On Sat. afternoon, a queen is chosen from the candidates representing the colleges and universities from the state of Kentucky.
In 2003, a Kappa Delta representing Morehead State University, Jamie Nichole Blair, was crowned KMLF Queen. There were several other KDs as candidates.
In 2004, a Kappa Delta representing Eastern Kentucky University, Kacie Elizabeth McAfee, was crowned KMLF Queen. Also, there were several other KDs as candidates.
This Saturday, a Kappa Delta representing Kentucky Wesleyan University, Hope Renee Hamilton, was crowned KMLF Queen. Other KD candidates were: Mica Lashea Wood representing Georgetown College (my alma mater), and Abby Lauren Wells representing Western Kentucky University. All three young women were beautiful. They all exuded with what Kappa Delta stands for...the honorable, the beautiful, and the highest.
Every year, my sister (who is also a KD) and I get all the KDs together and have a picture made...usually with the Governor of Kentucky. However, this year the Governor was on a tight schedule and was not available to have a picture made with us.
If anyone is interested in the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival, you can go to www.kmlf.org for information and to see pictures. As of today, May 30, the website has not been updated with the new Queen's picture. This year, the Festival ran from May 25-28. Maybe by next week, the website will have been updated.
