Dearest Kappa Delta Ladies,
It truly is inspiring to see women even after they have graduated still call each other sisters and still hold the Kappa Delta bound which binds us all.
All of us hold our own chapters near and dear to our hearts, for the alumni of Delta Eta University of South Florida I would like to show you how we have grown in your foot steps.
This past spring we received top honors at the Order of Omega awards. We received, Sorority of the Year, Leader of the year for our past president Leslie Copeland, Frat's choice for Sorority of the Year, Highest GPA for sororities, Big Man on Campus won for best philanthropies, and also Community Service. It was almost a total win for Delta Eta! Also we won Most improved chapter at Convention this past June.
In a few weeks we kick off Spirit week, I myself and the current ladies of Delta Eta would like to thank our Tampa AA, and Clearwater AA you have done so much for us and have asked for so little in return, you truly are the sweetest women on earth.
Also if anyone is interested in joining the Tampa AA or Clearwater AA the current president is Jan Kelly if you would like any information on joining please let me know I'm sure she would love to have you on bored!!!!!!!

Greetings to all KD alumnae. The SJAA is gearing up to plan our 2005-2006 event calendar. We have new socials coming up that I'm sure will spark your interest, but in planning all this fun, we can't do it alone we need your support! It will be on Saturday, August 13th from 10am to 12pm.
This past year the SJAA has gone through significate positive changes in upgrading our events, having sisters active in the community, increasing our membership, providing an environment to foster alumnae bonds, and becoming a stable source of support for Gamma Iota.
Our efforts have been recognized by both Harriet, who is our APP15 and National via AA-E newsletter. the SJAA was featured twice in the AA-E newsletter this past year! I hope, with your participation at our August meeting we can raise the bar just a little to take an active role in our Greek and local community.
You are probably thinking that with your full schedule already, how can I possible help. Not to worry. We currently have members that lead full lives, taking care of family, their career or a combination of both and yet they are paid members. In fact, they are consistantly paying their dues every year! They may come to one or two events, but knowing that their dues are going toward a good cause to support our programming, they know they are making a difference. I emphasis to all members that they should never feel gulity when they can't come to events and that participation comes at all levels. Administration support is just as important as attendance. Becoming active in renewing your membership is just as important as taking on a position. You are helping the SJAA to continue our Kappa Delta ideals of striving for that which is honorable, beautiful, and highest.

My name is Shae Keefe, and I'm going to be moving from Tampa, FL to Houston, TX in December! I got accepted to South Texas College of Law, and will be living there for at least the next 3 years. The school is located in downtown Houston, so I was wondering if anyone familiar with the area might be willing to chat about apartments, fun things to do, and of course, the Houston KD AA!

I was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood of
Columbia/Willamette in Oregon and attended my first event on July 19. While
deciding whether or not to buy a t-shirt (Choice is Sexy), I learned that
not only was I standing next to another KD but she was from my chapter (and
is at least 10 years younger than me)!
It was so out of the blue and great to meet another KD at an event like that.
The next Planned Parenthood's Sexy Tuesdays event is Art Auction @ Paragon
Gallery Room, 1308 NW Hoyt to be held September 20 -- it would be great to
see more KDs there.

My husband, Ted Wheeler, is running for Multnomah County Chair 2006. The
campaign is already well under way and it would be great to get the interest
and support of any local KDs!
He's a progressive businessperson who has started, grown and run a number of
successful firms. He's a hands-on non-profit leader and community volunteer
who has watched with increasing frustration as our government bogs down in
bickering and politics, and the people we're supposed to be helping are the
ones who suffer the most -particularly those among us who are the least able
to help themselves. And he's a sixth generation Oregonian who remembers a
time when progressive citizens took on the burden and honor of public
service - not as a career, but as a cause.
If you want more information about my husband, why he's running and/or how
to get involved, email me!
