Hi everyone!
Well, now I think it's finally official: Christine O' Grady Gregoire (Sigma Iota-Washington) is governor of Washington. Though she was inaugurated last month, the election results have been counted, recounted, and taken to court. But recently, it was ruled that the last recount was valid & Gregoire won the election.
Along with Kathleen Babineau Blanco (Gamma Kappa-Louisiana/Lafayette), governor of Louisiana, there has never been a time in history when two sorority sisters were governors.
Yes, it IS inspiring to see two women reach the top office in their home states; it's even more special that these women are our sisters. Congratulations! :)
AOT,
Annie

Mark your calendars Tuesday Feb 15th, 2005 7-9pm.
Our KD sisters are graduating from college! Only a few months to go
before we induct them into our alumnae circle of friendship. In the
mean time, The SJAA will be getting together at Sharon's house to
make graduation sashes for the senior class. We have three (3) to
make this semester so this will be easy.
No sewing experience necessary we will teach you.
Other activites we will do is putting together Senior Treat Bags and
writing notes of encouragement. We hope these treat bags will help
our seniors get through the tough times during Midterms and Finals.
Stationary and Treats will be provided. We just need some help
putting them together.

The Washington DC Alumnae Association is taking to the ice! Bring family and friends and join us for a fun day of ice skating and dinner on Sunday, February 20.
We will be meeting at the Pentagon Row Ice Skating Rink at 3pm. Ice skating fees are $7 for adults, $6 for children under 12, and $3 for skate rental. Come and show off your skating skills or just sip hot chocolate and watch the action.
After working up an appetite on the ice, we will head to dinner at the nearby Sine Irish Pub, located at 1301 South Joyce Street. If you would like to join us just for dinner, we will be at the restaurant at 5pm.
Both the ice skating rink and the restaurant are located off the Pentagon City Metro stop on the Blue and Yellow lines. Please RSVP for this event to Melissa at makiraco@hotmail.com.

Hi everyone. I'm moving to West Virginia so that my husband can attend medical school. I was wondering if any KD's used to live or live near Lewisburg, WV and could tell me a little about it. Also, I am a teacher and was wondering if anyone knew anything about WV certification. Email me at jaymers03@aol.com I'd love to meet some fellow KD's.

Hi! I recently got engaged and I am relocating to Boston from Orlando, FL and I am looking for some assistance in my job search. I currently work in the public relations/events and I am looking to do something similiar. I worked at Harvard University a few years ago, and loved the academic atmosphere, but I am open to any event-related positions, including development and non-profits. Any help or advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi all Sin City KD's! My name is Shannon Dunleavy & I am going to be relocating to the Las Vegas area within the next few months from snowy cold NYC. I've been interviewing for jobs in the Advertising/Media industry there, while also looking for apartments. I know there isn't any AA out there, so I would love to speak to anyone in the area! Look forward to chatting with you!

I went to the Gasparilla parade in Tampa, and the last group to go through had one of my pledge sisters. I haven't seen Sabrina in years! Just wanted to say "hi", even if we couldn't talk. Hope you had fun in the parade!

Attention KD Ladies... I am working on a project and could use a little help. I am looking for stories of how married or engaged couples met. I want to know how you met and how you progressed to marriage. Where were you in your life (age/education/goals/etc)? How did you know he was the one? I just need your first name and the state you live in and I won't be sharing any of this info with anyone else. If the project works out then I will be contacting you to see if I can use your story. Thanks

Hi everyone!
My brother is running for Los Angeles City Council this spring, and I am holding a fundraiser for him at the Silent Movie Theatre in LA this February 18th. It is a casino night with a silent auction and a 20 minute silent movie viewing. Since I live in New Jersey, you can imagine the time I'm having putting this all together. He is just starting out (this is his first campaign) and he is very short of help. I am flying out there this week to finish up and to begin selling tickets and soliciting donations for the silent auction. If anyone is in the Los Angeles area and would like to attend, or if you could donate something for the silent auction, it would be greatly appreciated. A vote for him would be amazing, too. You can learn more about him by visiting his campaign website at www.ZinoneForYou.com. If you are willing to donate an auction item, if you would like to attend, or if you know someone who can, please email me at jzinone@aol.com.
Thank you!

The University of South Florida, its students, faculty, staff, and alumni mourn the loss of one of its pioneers. Phyllis Marshall, who began working in the student union in 1960, died in her sleep on Feb. 5 at the age of 78. Phyllis, a beloved institution at the campus, actively supported all Greek organizations and helped them thrive. The university named the University Center after her when she retired in 1994. I attended the meeting at USF with Merrie Beth Neely when we selected the location for our house in the new Greek Housing area, and Phyllis proudly beamed as each organization made its choice. She will surely be missed by many. Just wanted to let everyone know that I went up to New York City on October 21 and tried out for P Diddy's "Making the Band 3." There were 950 ladies trying out overall and I made it into the top 30! This show will air on MTV in early 2005. Unfortunately, I couldn't wear a stitch letter and represent my girls though AOT and I'll update you when I know for sure when the show will air,
