Hey Gators!

Well, Recruitment 2003 is just a few days away - check out the note below from the the current VP Membership. :)  Also, the chapter's website is up & it's worth visiting: http://grove.ufl.edu/~kd/ There's music that plays automatically, so if you're checking it out @ work, you might want to turn down your speakers! ;)
Hmm..now, only if there was an alumnae section! ;)  Anyway, best of luck to the chapter...and please keep us posted!

Finally, I hope to see some of you at the UF/UM game - as a native Miamian, I'm thrilled that this rivalry is back again!  I'll be sitting in the UM section (my family has season tix) with my brother, who is a Hurricane. The game is on Sept. 6, starts @ 8pm & will be televised on ABC. If you're interested in celebrating with local Gators, check out http://www.miamigators.com or http://www.bcgc.net/. If anyone wants to post a "look for me here" note, send a note to me well before the 5th to I can send out a newsletter in time!

Here are the dates and times for Spirit Week and Recruitment in case any alumnae would like to stop by and see us and the newly renovated house, or would just like to be kept up to date!
Spirit Week: Sunday, August 10 - Sunday, August 17 (you know the drill, all day long!)
Recruitment: Monday, August 18 - Saturday, August 23 (Prefs- Saturday, begins at 5:30, but alumnae are welcome to come and see it until 4:00, when it will start to get crazy!)
Bid Day: Sunday, August 24th at 6 p.m.

Thanks to everyone for the references I've already received. Also, if anyone wants to send a little note of encouragement to the girls, the address again is (I know you remember!) 1122 E.Panhellenic Dr., Gainesville, FL 32601.

We are also asking for donations to help us pay for our beautiful white rose bouquets during Prefs. The bouquets cost $30 a piece and we place a card, mentioning the donor's name and pledge class, on the table. Last year we did this and girls LOVED it. I got so much positive feedback on this from PC '02 - they thought it really drove home the point we try to get across about "lifelong Kappa Delta". I really hate asking for money, but if alumnae are wanting and willing to help, this is a great way to do so.

I am delighted to announce the award of Order of the Emerald to Sandra (Sandy) Wolf  Roscow, KA, and a member of the Gainesville/Ocala AA.  She just received this award at Convention.  All the members of the AA are so pleased that she won this award as it was so well deserved.

Dear Sisters,
Have you heard that Kappa Delta will open a house on the campus of University of South Florida THIS August?  Our dreams have finally become a reality and WE NEED YOUR HELP!  Due to the wonderful guidance of Becky Conkling, we are going to have a beautifully decorated house however the funds have run dry.  We are creating a plaque of all those that help furnish the house and WE WANT YOUR NAME INCLUDED!  Please don't think that any donation is too small or that you have to be a Delta Eta.  We want to show the girls in the chapter just how much Kappa Delta has meant to all of us and that it DOES NOT stop when you leave college.  If you'd like to talk to me direct, I'm always on email. I wanted to let you know my husband and I have moved to Cincinnati, Ohio.  Jason got a wonderful promotion at work and we are in the middle of getting moved in and settled in our new house.  We are in the Hyde Park area outside of downtown Cincinnati and have met some great Gator friends already.  My email will stay the same-thanks!
