Hello: I just wanted to announce that I recently married Frederic Tort so I am now Gina Tort (formerly Gina Pages, a.k.a. Lil Pages). I was married on June 9th here in Tampa and then we honeymooned in St. John in the USVI's. That is the BEST place, we highly recommend it to anyone. Crystal blue water, small non-touristy island (only 19 miles all the way around) with iguanas, goats and donkeys all around the island. It has mountains, beautiful beaches, hiking, great restaurants, etc.

My husband is the best! I can honestly say now, that not settling was the best thing I ever did. I was the last of my close friends to get married, but it was worth the wait as he is absolutely wonderful! He is originally from France but grew up in Ruskin, Florida and went to East Bay high school and then to USF. His whole family speaks French more than English and I am desperately trying to learn. He is a HUGE Gator fan which is very important in order for our relationship to work - :) ! We met through mutual friends at both of our jobs about 2 years ago and the rest is history.

I really love hearing about the other Beta Pi's and what they are doing and I have yet to write my "what are they doing now" email. So, for those of you interested I guess I will go ahead and do that now.

I was in PC 89, otherwise know as P.O.C. ! I graduated from UF in '94 with a Health Science Education degree. I was still around Gainesville for about 2 more years after that however, as I got a job right after graduation with a medical software company in Gainesville called Gold Standard Multimedia. I am in sales - surprise- and love it. In Dec. 96 the company relocated to Tampa (lucky me, this is where I am from) and I have been with them now for 7 years. I am now the manager of sales for our drug reference product - Clinical Pharmacology - which is soon coming out in a format for the PDA (personal digital assistant), called Clinical Pharmacology onHand (TM).

Gold Standard Multimedia creates medical educational software (now online programs) which teaches everything from anatomy to radiology to human physiology and more. Any of you who went to med school, PT school or nursing school may know us as we are used in a lot of the medical, pharmacy and health-related schools. Our two main products are the Integrated Medical Curriculum and our drug reference program, which I sell, called Clinical Pharmacology. Also if any of you work as pharmacists for Walgreens, Eckerd, etc. you should know of us as well as we are the drug reference they use. If you want to check out more about what we do our website is http://www.gsm.com (being the sales person I am I have to mention this). :)

Anyway, two years ago I became and aunt - I have the most adorable nephew, Jake (Lisa's little boy) who is almost 2 years old now. He is so cute and is starting to look more and more like Lisa with his dark hair and eyes - his skin however is pale like his father. :)

I bought a house last year in north Tampa (Carrollwood Village area) and then got engaged last June 4th to Fred. The wedding as I mentioned earlier, just took place about a month ago on June 9th and so far there are no plans for kids in the immediate future. All of my friends here have kids so we just play with theirs for now and that is enough. Probably we will try in about 2-3 years. We have to go to France first as I have never been to Europe!

I see some KD's in Tampa sometime ( Dara Simon, Shawn Veit-Sanchez, Beth Voyik, Tami Agliano, Brittany Pease, Tracey Welch Pettit (sp?), Meda Allen Balhke, etc. and I was involved for a little bit in the Tampa KD Alumni Assoc.

I still keep in touch and am good friends with Iliana Tablada Leonard, who is in Jacksonville and has one little boy Tyler (1 1/2) and is expecting a little girl soon - Brianna. I also occasionally see Maria Burke, Ashlee Poole, Dewey and MC Sanders, Alice and Shirley Allen and others. I thought I would throw out some older and younger pledge class names for all those Beta Pi's reading.

Hope everyone is doing well and if you have not yet submitted your "what are you doing now" email, please do so as I would love to hear about everyone!

Thanks and AOT,
Gina (Pages) Tort

Dear Annie,

I have some happy news! My sister, Amy Roberts Greenhalgh (PC 88) and her husband, Rich, are the proud parents of a baby boy! Collin James Greenhalgh was born July 7, weighing 7 lbs. 3 oz. They are all doing really well. Since both Amy and Rich went to UF, they've already decided where Collin is going to college... :)

AOT,
Jackie Roberts

Hi Annie!

Thanks for the sweet note on Beta Pi news! Miss Florida USA was an AWESOME experience, and I am so thankful to have had the encouragement and support of my sisters. In case anyone missed it, I ended up 4th runner up and won the swimsuit preliminary award! I also had a girl come up to me after the pageant to tell me that she is going through UF rush this fall and that every KD she has ever met is both beautiful and sweet- what a compliment!. Did you know that in addition to me being Miss Daytona Beach USA, Annie Morton is Miss Florida Gator (competed at Miss Florida-America 2 weeks ago) and Holly Tuttle is the reining Homecoming Queen? Is this chapter on fire or what?! Thanks again!

Love in AOT,
Carrie Mewha
