Hi Everyone!

Got back from Convention a few days ago. I apologize to anyone who had planned to meet there - since HQ was not releasing the final schedule beforehand, it was difficult to arrange much of anything. I had a sign posted up in case any Beta Pi's came by, but the only ones I met up with were the Convention attendees..

I just have to tell you -- Beta Pi was ALL OVER the Convention! In case you didn't hear, our gals won the Merit Award!!!! WOOOOHOOOO!!!!! Beta Pi also was the only chapter to win the Pledge Education award! The ladies also raked in the Scholarship Awards (honorable mention), Most Improved Recuritment, and Membership Quota. (Hope I didn't miss any other wards -- but I'm sure we'll hear all about this in our Beta Pi Buzz, right? ;) I was definitely proud to be a Beta Pi!!

On a sad note, a Memorial Service was held for Ruth Williams, who passed away during the biennium. Ruth was a former National Officer who, though she wasn't a Beta Pi, had "adopted" our chapter when she moved to the area. She was a frequent visitor to the house when I was a collegian (85-89). Ruth didn't want a public memorial service; she only wanted the KD Memorial done & she had asked Corre Stegall to give the eulogy. It was very touching. :)

Anyway, I also got the chance to meet with many of the Gainesville alumnae, who support our chapter -- including Aimee Giro Pricher! But most of all, I was honored to have lunch on Tuesday with Bette Riker! Bette is as sharp as ever, & I was surprised she remembered me...and she even recalled my older sister Barbie! We really had fun at our table, not only because I was with the Gainesville gang, but also because we were mixed in w/ some collegians from Univ. of Illinois, another Merit Award-winning chapter...who went on to win The Council Award (that's THE Big One) later that night.

I also spent quite a bit of time w/ my pledge sister Christine Ward (Pres of the Clearwater AA), who I hadn't seen since...1988!? Aimee, Christine & I shared stories of Kappa Delta life back in the late 80's!!! It was so much fun!!!

All in all, it was a wonderful time! I can't wait till 2003, when we're off to Tucson, Arizona!

That's all for now...oh, I've attached a digital photo of the Beta Pi collegians & alumnae..with our awards!!!!

AOT,
Annie :)

I've got great news for all our sisters in need of a computer! As you know, I work for Gateway Computers in the Orlando area. Just today, after some negotiations, I've been given permission to offer a tremendous discount to all KDs! Last year I had such a huge response from so many sisters that I had to offer this special again!

If any sister is interested in a new Gateway computer, they may call or email my store and let any Sales Representative know that they are a Kappa Delta and ask for the "Sorority Sister Special" discount! We'll take care of everything for you - including shipping!

Current Sisters, please feel free to have your mom or dad call us, too! Just remind them to tell us their daughter is a Kappa Delta and ask for the Sorority Sister Special!

This offer is only good from the Altamonte Springs Country Store so call or email us today! This promotion ends JULY 31, 2001!

You can reach us at the Altamonte Springs Gateway Country Store at 407-261-0414 or email us at CSALTSAL@Gateway.com.
