Hello Everyone..

Wow, I've had a great response from you all as to what you're up to! Thanks! Don't feel bad if you don't see your bio in this issue -- I'm doing a few at a time & I'm backlogged (still have a few that were sent in January!).

Also, please check to make sure I have you listing in the "directory" at the bottom of this list. That's where EVERYONE's name should show up.

AOT,
Annie

Hi Annie,
Thanks for creating this forum. It's great to see how "life after college" is going for all Beta Pi's.

RE: What am I doing?

I work at Massachusetts General Hospital where I am an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, specializing in Cardiology. I am sure this will come as a huge surprise to any Beta Pi in school the spring of '89 when I announced that I hated my major and would never use my BSN! Well, I did use it and went on to receive my MSN from Georgetown University in 1997.
I am married (Dan is a Notre Dame man so the football rivalry is pretty harsh)- no children yet. I am also a member of the Junior League, but have not affiliated with the AA in Boston since we may only be here for this year. Interestingly, I am taking Art/Architecture History classes and adoring them. Perhaps this is what I should have majored in from the start!

What I am doing now? Well, my life has really changed in the past year and a
half - all for the better. I worked at an advertising agency in Orlando for
six years, where I was Vice President, Director of Research and Planning.
The agency was headquartered in New York and decided to close the Orlando
office in July of 1998, so 18 of us were out of work. Rather than go to work
for another agency I decided to stay on my own and do consulting. It was one
of the best decisions I've ever made. At the same time, my husband Dennis
and I decided to start a family, so our son Chase Alexander was born August
14, 1999. Now I run my business, Gwynn Market Research & Planning, out of my
home and get to spend every day with my son. It's definitely a challenge,
but it's so worth it. I have the best of both worlds. My business continues
to grow and fulfill my career ambitions, but I also get to see my son grow
and experience things for the first time. I've found that taking time to
play with him is a real stress reliever - of course I can't wait until he's
old enough for the good toys!

Hi Annie,
I was just writing to respond to the question of what Beta Pi's are up to these days.
I live in Nashville, TN (GO TITANS!) and am a speech-language pathologist. I am married to a wonderful husband named Bo and am currently taking a few years off from work to stay home with my son Drew. He is 1 1/2 years old. I love staying home with my son, but I am looking for some type of work to do from my home to keep my brain working. It is slowly being taken over by Barney and the Teletubbies. If anyone has any suggestions of work I could to at home, maybe on the computer, please e-mail me. Thank you!

I am a PC 92 Beta Pi. I am living in San Francisco now. Not married -- doing
analyst relations for Sun Microsystems. Good stuff ...
